This is a simple tutorial, but something I’ve run into multiple times when creating different models in Fusion 360. Often when modeling, you’ll have something in your model that’s either blocking your view or just in the way in general. This can get a little bit frustrating, but luckily one of the features of the browser allows you to toggle visibility of objects on and off.
When we say toggling objects on and off, what we really mean is that we’re turning their visibility off, so that you can’t see them in your model space. They’re still there, they just can’t be seen or interacted with.
The easiest way to do this is to just click the little eye next to any object. This will turn the visibility of this object off so that you can’t see it anymore. Whenever you want it back, simply click on the eye again.
This is great for individual objects, as well as objects in a group or a folder. However, sometimes you want to turn multiple objects on or off at once.
This is actually trickier than you’d expect, as you can’t just do a shift+click and select multiple objects then click on the eye. What you can do though is select the individual objects that you’d like to toggle, then tap the “V” key. This will automatically toggle the visibility of the selected objects off from whatever state they’re in to the other state. This means you can also use this tip to turn the objects back on. Notice that you can’t select or see these objects when they’re turned off.
